A library PIN will permit you to use enhanced features of Einstein (RIT's web-based catalog) and Connect NY (the unified catalog of five academic libraries in New York State).

A PIN enables you to:

• REQUEST materials from Connect NY.
• ACCESS your library borrowing record.
• VIEW the books on loan to you.
• RENEW book loans on-line.
• REQUEST A HOLD and be notified when a book on loan is available for you.
• CANCEL A HOLD for a book you requested earlier.
• SET UP saved searches.
• SET UP monthly email alerts to notify you when new materials match your saved searches.
• CHANGE YOUR PIN.

Setting up a PIN

Go to the logon page on the library's catalog.

Fill in your last name, your University ID number, and a library PIN.

If this is the first time you have tried to access your account, or if you have requested library staff reset your PIN, anything you enter into the PIN field will become your new library PIN.

I forgot my PIN

If you forget your PIN, library staff can delete your existing one. But you must contact the Wallace Library Circulation Desk in person. After your PIN has been deleted, you can set a new one.

Tips when using your PIN

• Do not use hyphens when typing your University ID number.
• If your last name has a space in it, (e.g. Van Cose) then try entering the name with the space and, if unsuccessful, without the space between the two words.
• Put only your last name in the name text box.
• PINs are case sensitive.
