This Saturday the New York Wine & Culinary Center officially opens. On Friday VIPS celebrate the new center. RIT is one of four major sponsors of the center.

Bill Buford's Heat

In his new book Heat, Bill Buford documents his experiences working in a variety of restaurant kitchens including Mario Batali's restaurant Babbo in NYC and restaurants in England and Europe. Buford is a professional writer who wanted to experience "the trials and errors (and more errors), humiliations and hopes, disappointments and triumphs as he worked his way up the ladder from slave to cook." PGA Returns to Rochester

The Democrat and Chronicle reports this morning that the PGA Championship tour will be returning to Rochester in 2013. Students from RIT's Hospitality & Service Management Program had the opportunity to assist with this event when it was held at the Oak Hill Country Club in 2003. According to the Chronicle report Oak Hill will also host the Senior PGA Championship is 2008.
