Curator Succession at the Cary Collection
David Pankow, librarian and curator of the Cary Graphic Arts Collection for the past 32 years, will be retiring at the end of summer. During his tenure, Professor Pankow expanded the modest collection from 5,000 to 40,000 volumes, and acquired a number of significant primary source archives on bookbinding, calligraphy, graphic design, printing technology, and typography. A farewell reception is planned for David Pankow on September 15, 2011 in the Cary Collection, The Wallace Center at RIT. Read the full story at RIT University Magazine, Fall 2011 edition.
Steven K. Galbraith will succeed David Pankow as curator of the Cary Collection, starting September 1, 2011. Dr. Galbraith comes to RIT from the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC, where he served as the Andrew W. Mellon Curator of Books.
