New York Archives Magazine features RIT GDA
New York Archives Magazine published by the New York State Archives Partnership Trust recently featured the RIT Graphic Design Archives in their Spring 2013 issue. "Mad Men (and Women) of Design" by assistant curator, Amelia Hugill-Fontanel was included in the magazine's regular series of "Archives Around New York." The article outlined the inception of the RIT GDA in 1984 with acquisitions of collections on great 20th century modernists, including Lester Beall, Will Burtin, and Cipe Pineles. The Archive has grown to include the collections of some 40 designers, which are used for teaching, exhibitions, and scholarship worldwide.
