Translating the Word with Rev. Dr. Richard Henshaw

“Translating the Word”

An Evening with Rev. Dr. Richard A. Henshaw

November 12, 2013 at 6 p.m.

Please join the Cary Collection as we host a talk by Richard Henshaw for our final event supporting our exhibition Manifold Greatness: The Creation and Afterlife of the King James Bible. Providing a behind-the-scenes look at the work of a Bible translator, Dr. Henshaw will present the original Hebrew texts of familiar passages from the Old Testament and show the various ways that they have been translated into English. Dr. Henshaw will also consider the challenge of translating the Bible into modern English.

Lecture is open to the public.

Light refreshments to follow until 8 p.m.
