Computer software and video games should be cited similar to other media types, but include Software or Video Game after the date of publication (MLA 52). For software, include the version (MLA 28); if a version number is not available, include an access date after the download site URL (MLA 53). For both software and video games, include the most recent relevant release date (MLA 43). If the publisher of a piece of software or video game is also the corporate author (e.g. Microsoft), omit the author and list the organization in the publisher field (MLA 25). If you are listing the developer as the author, you should include a comma then developer after his or her name (MLA 37).
