City Citations was developed by RIT LIbraries at Rochester Institute of Technology to extend the indexing of City Newspaper to make more of its content searchable by the general public. The City Newspaper web site provides a searchable full text database back to May of 2002. This project extends the indexing of the paper back to 1993. The article index can be searched by title, author, name, subject and section. It can be sorted by date. There is a thesaurus of personal and corporate names working behind the scenes to ensure that searching will bring up all variable versions. Although the project does not extend to including abstracts or full text, there are many locations in the Rochester area that maintain the newspaper for this period. This index will make them more accessible.
