Special Collections
The RIT
Library Special Collections include a wide variety of published
and unpublished materials organized in distinct, but related collections.
The collections include materials on all aspects of the fine and
applied arts and photography, with greatest strengths in graphic
design and applied photography. More detailed information can be

Accessing the Special Collections
Location: The Special Collections are located with the Archives
in Room 3660 of RIT Library.
All collections, except for items deemed confidential by donors,
are for the use of RIT students, alumni, faculty, staff, administrators
and independent researchers.
Materials in this area do not circulate and are paged for patrons
- it is a closed stack area with a supervised reading room.
When the condition of materials permits, they may be photocopied
or photographed.
Records of most materials can be accessed through Einstein, the RIT Library catalog.
Other items can be found through special finding aids and the personal
assistance of the Archives and Special Collections staff.
Hours: During the academic year (September-May), Special Collections is open:
Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 - 5:00 pm
Wednesday evenings 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Summer: Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 - 5:00 pm
