Description

In 1957, for the first time,  RIT named two students “Athlete of the Year" at the annual lettermen's banquest held at the Pittsford Inn.  These two students were wrestler, Jim Modrak, and fencer, June Johnson.  Under June's leadership as captain, the squad won 24 straight matches.  Her career climaxed when she led her club to the team championship of the International Women's Fencing Association tournament and took individual honors in the championship round.
