Title
RIT Student Union
Subject

RIT downtown campus

Description

This house located at 90 Troup Street was the Student Union before RIT moved to Henrietta. The first floor was used for meetings and also housed the first color television set on campus!
The second floor was used by Religious Affairs and WITR radio.

This building scheduled to be demolished when the inner loop was built. Before it was though, one caring student carefully removed the sign designating it the RIT Student Union. (as seen in the photo)

This Student Union sign, after many years of safe keeping by Jay Powell, found its' way to the RIT Archives where it will remain safe and will forever serve as a physical reminder of the downtown days.
