A. How do I discover a new artist I'm not familiar with? - Come to the Library,
use the Location of Art Materials Guide to browse in sections on the 3rd floor
or look at the current art journals on the 2nd floor.


B.How do I find more information about my favorite artist?
Use the library catalog (Einstein) to find books.

 

  1. Find a book or journal article about an artist in the Library,
    not on the web! Also, find text written about or by the artist.
    Use Einstein, the electronic library catalog located at
    http://albert.rit.edu, to find your material and be sure to use
    both Author and Subject searches.

  2. Make a scan or color photocopy or black and white photocopy (color copier / scanner located
    on the 2nd floor in the VIA area, b/w copiers located on every floor of libary ) of good images of the material.

  3. Record where you found the material -- for example, author, title, publisher, date of publication and page number.

  4. Make a piece of artwork of the images and text derived from your discovery!
