GARDNER'S ART THROUGH THE AGES: SAMPLE SEARCHES
To find an image by an artist:
1. Perform an author search in Einstein, the Library's
catalog.
2. Type the artist's name: last name, first name. For example, "Manet,
Edouard".
3. To limit your results to images, select the limit this search
button at the top of the screen.
4. At the media/caption scroll box, select slides and then
scroll to limit/sort items retreived using above data box
and click on it.
5. You will now have a list of 4 titles, select a title.
6. Scroll down so you can see the majority of the record. Please
make note of the copyright restrictions.
7. Under the title, click in the box to select the image resolution
you prefer.
To find an image of a building by name:
1. Perform a word search in Einstein, the Library's catalog.
2. Type a word in the name of the building. For example, "Parthenon".
3. To limit your results to images, select the limit this search
button at the top of the screen.
4. At the media/caption scroll box, select slides and then
scroll to limit/sort items retreived using above data box
and click on it.
5. You will now have a list of 17 titles, select a title.
6. Scroll down so you can see the majority of the record. Please
make note of the copyright restrictions.
7. Under the title, click in the box to select the image resolution
you prefer.
To find an image by title:
1. Perform a title search in Einstein, the Library's catalog.
2. Type the title of the work. For example, "Liberty Leading the
People".
3. To limit your results to images, select the limit this search
button at the top of the screen.
4. At the media/caption scroll box, select slides and then
scroll to limit/sort items retreived using above data box
and click on it.
5. You will now have a list of 4 titles, select a title.
6. Scroll down so you can see the majority of the record. Please
make note of the copyright restrictions.
7. Under the title, click in the box to select the image resolution
you prefer.
To find an images from a particular museum:
1. Perform a word search in Einstein, the Library's catalog.
2. Type the name of the museum or a significant word in the museum's
name. For example, "Louvre".
3. To limit your results to images, select the limit this search
button at the top of the screen.
4. At the media/caption scroll box, select slides and then
scroll to limit/sort items retreived using above data box
and click on it.
5. You will now have a list of 63 titles, select a title.
6. Scroll down so you can see the majority of the record. Please
make note of the copyright restrictions.
7. Under the title, click in the box to select the image resolution
you prefer.
