TERMS OF USE: Access to this database is restricted to current RIT students, faculty and staff for academic and teaching purposes only. Commercial use, systematic or "excessive" downloading, or redistribution of database content outside of RIT is expressly prohibited. Violations may result in the cancellation of this database for the entire campus as well as the personal sanctions outlined in the RIT Code of Conduct for Computer and Network Use.

WorldCat is the world's largest network of library-based content and services. Use WorldCat to find books, journal titles (NOT individual articles), and other materials that are not in the RIT Library.

If you need something that RIT Library does not own you may request that we try to obtain it for you via our interlibrary loan system, IDS Express. Please note that we will do our best to obtain the item for you but not all materials listed in WorldCat can be borrowed.

You can search Worldcat via 2 different interfaces:

Worldcat via Firstsearch

The Advanced Search screen lets you construct more complex search statements:

  • Combine and/or exclude search terms
  • Search by genre/form
  • Search for a specific publisher
  • Browse for nearby terms in an index

Worldcat via Worldcat.org

Find in a Library with WorldCat
  • Create a personal profile that tells others about your interests
  • Build lists of library materials you can share with others
  • Post your review of an item, or contribute factual information about it such as historical context
