The Office of the Vice President for Research(OVPR) at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is responsible for university-wide research and research support services, as well as industry and government research relationships. The OVPR collaborates with all deans and center directors and works closely with other university administrators to develop and carry out RIT's strategic research agenda. Research is conducted to advance the body of knowledge, enhance student and faculty learning, and build RIT's reputation in the scientific and technical communities while providing positive returns to its sponsoring partners.

The OVPR consists of:

Prior to the OVPR at RIT, the RIT Research Corporation, a for-profit subsidiary of RIT conducted applied research and consulting services. It was founded in 1980 and was eventually absorbed as part of the university in 2011.

The Research at RIT records consist of annual reports, brochures, and an event program related to the research activities at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). The annual reports published from 2003 to 2007 contain highlights of faculty research and scholarship, financial summary, an overview of research activities for the year. In 2008, research reports were published twice a year as Research at RIT and contain information on focus areas of research, innovation and entrepreneurship in research, and research awards.

The collection also includes annual reports from Sponsored Research Services from 2004-2011, a program brochure from the 2006 Principal Investigators reception, and a promotional brochure from 2008 about Corporate R&D at RIT.

The collection is arranged by material type and then in chronological order.

Annual reports will be added annually to the collection.
