Biographical/Historical Information (Collapse)

The first calendar was published by the Office of Student Activities at RIT for Spring Quarter 1962. It was called the Tiger Time Table and it listed weekly events from March 19 through June 3. The small booklet also included student organizations, clubs and fraternities.

A. Stephen Walls was the director of the Office of Student Activities at the time the first calendar was published. In it he wrote: "The Tiger Time Table is issued with the desire to better inform everyone at the Rochester Institute of Technology of the programs and activities that exist. It is the hope of this office that more students will become aware of these activities and participate. The accuracy of future editions will depend upon the desire of all organizations to record their activities in advance."

The 1963-64 edition called the RIT Activities Calendar took on the look of a wall hung calendar. Throughout the years the calendar had many names and various formats but continued to be an effective form of information for students until the Internet came along.
