Biographical/Historical Information (Collapse)

Kelly Redder has worked in the field of higher education for the past 24 years. She began her career working at the New York State Commission for Independent Colleges and Universities. She has worked in the office of alumni relations for various institutions, including the College of Misericordia, Ithaca College, University of Rochester, and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). At RIT, Kelly Redder has had integral roles within the Office of Alumni Relations, serving as the Assistant Vice President of RIT for Life and the Director of RIT Alumni House.

RIT for Life seeks to increase engagement of RIT alumni and gain a better idea of how to strengthen “the mutually beneficial relationship between RIT and our alumni, according to an article entitled “RIT for Life” by Kelly Redder in RIT’s University News. As the Director of the RIT Alumni House, Kelly Redder oversees a private estate that was purchased in 2014 by RIT “to serve as a center for all things alumni,” according to the article “Alumni House Welcomes First NRS Friends” written by the Nathaniel Rochester Society (NRS). In the same article, it was mentioned that the Alumni House will allow “alumni to easily come and go while visiting campus, to interact informally and socially with one another, and to feel ‘at home’ on the RIT campus.”

RIT Alumni Association supports and manages over 100,000 alumni and respective alumni association chapters worldwide. The RIT Alumni Association works closely with the Office of Alumni Relations to ensure that alumni relations are fostered and supported through various community events, as well as sporting and educational events.
