Scope and Content (Collapse)

The collection consists of three digital collages printed on paper.

In the print Deaf Identity Crayons: then and now no. 2 from 1999, two boxes of crayons are depicted: The crayons in the 1899 box bear derogatory or out-dated terms associated with the Deaf, while the crayons in the 1999 box are labeled with positive terms, illustrating the change in society's view of the Deaf.

The print Deaf Culture Crayons from 1999 depicts a pack of crayons made to resemble Crayola Crayon packs. Each crayon is labeled with terms that can be applied to Deaf Culture.

The print Deaf Women Soup from 1995 depicts the front and back of a red and white Campbell Soup-like can labeled Deaf Studies Condensed on the front with directions and ingredients listed on the back. It is a take on the Warhol piece Campbell's Soup Can.
