A Day of Learning Sessions for RIT Staff - What a Delectable Concept!

The second annual Food For Thought: A Day of Techie and Not-So-Techie Learning Sessions for RIT Staff will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2008.

A full day of learning sessions on a variety of topics that range from application-specific workshops, to explorations of technology trends, to how-to instruction, as well as some uniquely fun diversions are being planned.

Serving Up a Selection of Savory Sessions, Sure to Satisfy
Twenty-four workshops are scheduled throughout the day. We are offering real "meat 'n potatoes" courses such as MS Office sessions as well as "lighter fare" like the Sculpey Clay Creations. During the course of the day, multiple sessions will run concurrently, so attendees will make selections from our menu of options within each block of time.

All menu items are offered on an à la carte basis, so you can hand-pick those that appeal to you most. Registration is required and is available until June 9th. All sessions are on a first-come, first-served basis. Most session sizes are limited, so place your online reservations as soon as possible.

Introducing Extra Helpings
Are you hungry for answers? Do you thirst for knowledge? Do you have a technology or software related question? Do you want to check your email, blog or Facebook account between Food For Thought sessions? Simply visit the “Extra Helpings” area, located on the Library’s second floor (VIA). This new area will be open throughout the day, offering computer access and personalized face time with staff from ITS Desktop Support, RIT Online Learning, RIT Libraries Technology Services and other Library staff. If we can’t answer your “Extra Helping” questions on the spot, we will get back to you with solutions after the event!
