Are your kids and/or student workers faster with their mouse or go a mile a minute when keyboarding? Looking for a way to improve your keyboarding and mousing skills? We can get you on that path with this session through fun, interactive exercises. The following is what will be covered: discussion about passwords; getting passwords reset, if needed; basic mousing exercise to become comfortable in using the mouse; keyboarding exercise to work towards easy navigation of the keyboard. Many commentators have made the distinction between the initial, static version of the World Wide Web (Web 1.0) and the current, dynamic, interactive version (Web 2.0). But what will follow Web 2.0? This session will explore the possibilities for the third generation of the Web, and will focus in particular on the idea of the Semantic Web. In the words of the New York Times, the Semantic Web will "add a layer of meaning on top of the existing Web that would make it less of a catalog and more of a guide."

Second Life was formed in 2003 and is now inhabited by millions across the world. The session will provide a tour of the RIT Island as well as information on other educational sites in Second Life. Clickers are handheld devices allowing audience members to respond to questions in a workshop, auditorium or classroom setting. This tool is great for session ice-breakers and to provide immediate feedback to the presenter. The second portion of the workshop will be an introduction to using Clipboard, an easy-to-use online survey tool created by RIT Online Learning. Participants will learn about new, upgraded features available and have time for a brief hands-on session using Clipboard.
