Strategic Direction

Vision

RIT Libraries will be seen as an acknowledged resource on applying innovation in developing cultural collections and customer connections.

Mission

As an active partner in quality education, focusing on curricular support and enrichment of the academic experience, Wallace Library will offer quality services to meet our community's needs by:

  • providing current technologies to access onsite collections and global networks.
  • delivering innovative instruction and responsive help services.
  • maintaining a welcoming environment that is comfortable, secure and accessible for our community.

Goals

Transform the library to become the Center For RIT Culture and Information Services
Partner to consistently provide a common place where every RIT person can access the scholarly resources of the Institute, where every RIT person can gather or distribute information about or vital to the culture and life of the community, and where everyone on campus can receive practical information assistance in a variety of formats.

Enhance Information Access
Continually enhance access to an extensive variety of information services which support undergraduate and graduate student success as well as faculty engaged in various forms of scholarship and research.

Improve Library Service
Recognize the profound impact and value of interpersonal service as key to success in satisfying our patrons. Strive to be the most reliable, centralized source of campus information by seeking out information gaps and filling them.
