These decreases are partly due to the titles we purchasd this year having a higher average price than those purchased the previous year and partly due to the bibliographers spending less of their special funds than usual. There was a 117% increase in gifts received this year from 287 in 2002/2003 to 623 in 2003/2004.

The decrease in receipt of paper serials corresponds directly to the continued cancellations of print titles in favor of electronic access.

Binding of serials has decreased due to further cancellations. An increase in number of copies of theses bound again this year is noted. The monographic binding increased due to purchasing more paperbound books where there were substantial differences in price over hardbound.
