Open Photoshop.
From the File menu choose New.
From the Filter menu select Noise --> Add Noise (apply once or twice)
From the Filter menu select Blur
From the Image menu select Adjust --> Hue/Saturation
From the Filter menu select Noise -->Add Noise
Let's Test the tile as a background
With the tiled graphic active, go to the Select menu and choose All
From the Edit menu slect Define Pattern.
Create a new file, from the File menu --> New
Then select the new file and from the Edit menu select Fill
You now have a seamless pattern, perfect for a background that looks like this.
Save your tile and you have completed your first custom made background.
You can repeat this steps with different values in the Hue/Saturation selection
and with different Noise levels.
