A coffeehouse . . . IN the library???

The staff of RIT Library believes the library is much more than books ... it’s a place for the RIT community to gather, talk, connect, explore new ideas and more. An inviting and comfortable coffeehouse IN the library-- where relaxation is encouraged-- is a natural extension of these beliefs!

This unique space, named Java Wally's, is offered as part of RIT Library for students, faculty, staff and visitors to RIT. In partnership with Java's on Gibbs Street in downtown Rochester, the library invites you in to enjoy fresh gourmet coffee (made with Java Joe's beans), tea, smoothies, lemonade and light snacks while relaxing in a casual, comfortable atmosphere.

Java Wally's displays original artwork from RIT students and faculty and provides a venue for RIT performance groups as well as outside groups. A variety of free performances and activities are scheduled continuously.

Popular magazines and board games are freely available, as well as wireless laptop computers and access to all of the Library's many services.

During the academic year the library keeps the coffeehouse open 24-hours a day, Sunday through Thursday, and the coffee bar serves seven days a week. When the coffee bar is closed, the rest of the space will still be open for your studying needs.
