Who Can Display

Any and all artists are welcome to submit artwork for display, but preference is given to RIT students, alumni, faculty and staff. Most of the art that has been submitted is from students or alumni, but some faculty and staff continue to use the venue to display their work as well.

Types of Art

Our goal with the artwork adorning Java Wally's is to have a variety of subjects, colors, sizes and mediums that enhance the coffeehouse atmosphere, while also providing a free opportunity for people to display their work.

Display Details

  • There is no charge, no fees, and no cover to display (or view) the art.
  • Artist is responsible for the delivery/pick up of the artwork to/from Java Wally's
  • The Wallace Center is not responsible for any loss, theft or damage to materials brought into the café for display.

Note: The Wallace Center cannot accept any of the artwork as a permanent donation. To schedule an appointment to review the work you would like to display please email Please fill out the Artist Agreement Form and bring it to your appointment. The form may be used for multiple artworks (ex: series).



RIT Department Events

Requesting an Event

  • Submit your event details using the contact form.
  • You will be contacted if the event is approved.

Note: Host is responsible for posting the event on the RIT events calendar for campus information.

Requesting Refreshments

  • Fill and print the Java Wally's RIT Department chargeback form.
  • Drop off the completed form to Java Wally's. Please call Java's at 475-4770 with any catering questions.
  • Java's will prepare your order at the times requested. Host is responsible for picking up and returning all items in the order.


Payment Options

Petty Cash and Tokens

You may be billed, pay with cash or credit from your department, or purchase Java Wally coffee tokens in advance.
Token Denominations:
  • $1 token
  • One Small Coffee/Tea (worth $2.50)

Tokens do not expire and may be used at anytime toward purchases made in the cafe.
To request tokens please fill out the Java Wally's RIT Department chargeback form, or call Java's at 475-4770 to have your tokens ready for pick-up. Please note we no longer accept “chargeback numbers” – the actual pro-card is required. Please be sure your form is signed by someone with the authority to use your hospitality account.
