6: Lesson Review

  1. Use self-assessment resources on the Web and in campus career service offices to understand how your interests fit with various occupations.
  2. Use books in the library collection as well as Web resources to study occupations more carefully.
  3. If school or more training is in your future, use print and Web guides to identify available programs.
  4. If you consider rankings of graduate programs, be sure to understand what factors were used to compile them.
  5. The best place to identify local internships is your college's career or placement office.
  6. Many different kinds of job listing and classified ad services are available on the web to help you locate positions to apply for.
  7. You can also look at company, organization, and government web sites for online job listings
  8. You need to become familiar with the ADA laws to understand your rights and to educate employers.
