Videos are located on the 3rd and 4th floors and may be borrowed for up to 3 weeks. There are tvs, vcrs and captioning available at MRC, basement of the library. Students may view videos there.

This presentation will help viewers in the following: (1) Develop a visual understanding of middle eastern country locations; (2) Develop a working knowledge of the Middle East (3) Manually demonstrate an understanding of middle eastern country name signs and (4) Build an understanding of Islamic history in a brief overview.

Signs Around the World. (9 videos). Individual country videotapes feature native Deaf male and female signers from that country. Each tape is separated into three sections which include personal introduction, vocabulary, and narrative. The videotapes illustrate the richness and variety of some of the world's sign languages. These tapes dispell the myth that "sign language is universal" by providing the viewer with an opportunity to see that the world's sign languages are as varied and as unique as the world's spoken languages

This World Wide Web workshop is for sign language interpreters, and provides
signs for cities and other places of the world, examples of their use in
context, alternate signs for the same place, and etymological information about

Designed so users may learn signed and printed vocabulary in four languages--British Sign Language, British English, American Sign Language, and American English. Translates any of a thousand words between all four languages by allowing the user to choose a word in one language and then displaying the word in the other three languages.
