Common Questions
Trouble Locating Material?
If you are having difficulty locating material please stop by the Circulation Desk for assistance. We can help you in locating the material or acquiring it from an outside lender, via IDS or CNY, if the material is available elsewhere.
There is a book checked out to me but I believe I returned it.
RIT Library takes care to ensure we accurately check-in the books you borrow. If you feel we made a mistake please read the Claims Returned Procedure and fill out our online Form. Your concern will be referred to the Coordinator of Circulation Services for prompt action.
I don't agree with a fine.
If you feel you have accrued a Library bill or fine in error please help us by filling out the Fines Grievance Form, detailing your reasons for disputing the fine. Your concern will be referred to the Coordinator of Circulation Services for prompt action.
I've forgotten my pin and can't access my account.
Current students, faculty, and staff should be using their DCE username and password to log into their account. If you do not know your RIT username or password, please call the Information Technology Services Help Desk at 585-475-HELP.
Authentication with a Library PIN is reserved for special types of library users without campus usernames and passwords. If you are one of these special library users, and you have not previously created a Library PIN, leave the Library PIN field blank and submit your information. You will then be asked to create your own Library PIN. If you do not know your ID number please contact the Circulation Desk at 585-475-2562 and we will supply you with that information.
If you forget your Library PIN, please come to the Circulation Desk and bring a photo ID. Although we cannot tell you what your Library PIN is, we can delete it so that you can create a new one.
