Lili Cassel-Wronker Stamp Collection

The calligrapher Lili Cassel-Wronker was born in Germany on May 5, 1924, and moved to New York City in May 1940. She attended Washington Irving High School, then worked as a freelance graphic designer and taught calligraphy at schools in and around New York. In 1943 she married Erich Wronker (1921-1997), a New York printer. The collection consists of American and international postage stamps with images of printing presses, printers, scribes, libraries, calligraphy, or books included in their design, and a small selection of reference books and newsletters on the topic.
