Cary Librarian Emeritus to give APHA Talk
David Pankow, former curator of the RIT Cary Graphic Arts Collection and RIT Librarian Emeritus, will deliver the prestigious Lieberman Lecture sponsored by the American Printing History Association on July 20 at the San Fransisco Public Library. The talk is free and open to the public and starts at 2:00 p.m. Pankow's presentation, "Reproductive Arts in America: Lithography Challenges Letterpress," will focus on the rivalry that developed during the 20th century between letterpress and offset lithography and how each process tried to capture the market for commercial color printing. The majority of the illustrations shown will be derived from the holdings in the Cary Collection. Refer to APHA's site for more information.
