The Cary partiticaptes in photo history conference

On April 20-22, 2018, RIT Press will sponsor "Photo Histoy/Photo Future," a three-day conference on the archaeology and future of photographic practices. Over 200 conference attendees will participate in a gallery night on the RIT campus that Friday, April 20. At that time, RIT Cary Graphic Arts Collection will debut our spring exhibition, "The Lumnious Print: An Appreciation of Photogravure," curated by David Pankow. This show features over 100 examples of the photogravure printing process as seen in illustrated books, print portfolios, periodicals, and artists' books. The range of materials dates from the 1840s to the present, and paints a comprehensive picture of the alluring capabilities of photogravure. The exhibition continues through June 2018 in the Cary showcases on the second floor of the RIT Libraries.
