What will a database give me?

Full text - The complete text of an article is called the full text. Some databases, like CQ Researcher, provide entire articles online, while others, like Academic Search Elite (EBSCOHost), provide some or most of the articles in full text online.

Abstracts - Sometimes a database may give you the abstract or summary of an article but not the full text. By reading the abstract, you can quickly see if the article will be useful for your topic. What does an abstract look like?

Citation information - The citation information is what allows you (or someone else) to find the article again. This typically includes the author, article title, periodical title, publication date, volume, issue, etc. You will also use this information to create the citation if you choose to use the article for an assignment.
