Which database should I use? Part 1

Some library databases are specialized focusing on a particular subject area while some others are general periodical databases covering many subject areas and containing both popular and scholarly periodicals. Here is a brief description of some examples of databases RIT subscribes to:

         Academic Search Elite: Multi-disciplinary database of articles from a variety of sources.

ArtStor: Includes over 1 million images covering art, architecture and photography.
Hoover’s Online: Business database providing company overviews on millions of companies.
  Opposing Viewpoints: Full text viewpoint essays on current social and political issues.
IEEE Xplore: Full text of articles, transactions and proceedings in Engineering.
            JSTOR: Full text database covering many of core research journals in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences.
