Citation styles
There are thousands of different styles for citations. Many disciplines (psychology vs. literature) use their own citation style and many journals have their own citation style. Your instructor will usually assign the style expected for that class. Sometimes you will be allowed to choose the style you want to use.
Each style includes many of the same basic parts of a citation, but may organize them slightly differently.
