New exhibition: A Small Pasture – Drypoints by Maria Victoria Savka

A Small Pasture – Drypoints by Maria Victoria Savka
October 19 – November 10, 2015
Sunken Gallery (2nd floor, north side of the building)

Enjoy this small pasture of animals created in the quiet printmaking studio by senior Maria Victoria Savka. These elegant and whimsical studies of animals are a delight. As Maria remarks “Drypoint has made a large impact on my work, it has taught me to understand expression and gesture through line, and value through cross-hatching and timing.”

Maria Victoria Savka is a senior in Illustration and Fine Arts Studio in the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences. She is a local Rochesterian. She strives to create work that is whimsical, visually appealing and unites intricacy and simplicity.  Overall, she is intrigued by her environment, studying in a childlike exploration through paper and pen.  For more examples of Maria’s work visit http://mariavictoriasavka.com/
