New RIT Museum exhibit: Resistance, Rebellion, and Renewal in Rochester

Resistance, Rebellion, and Renewal in Rochester: Narratives of Progress and Poverty examines more than one hundred years of Rochester’s history to illuminate the co-existence of wealth and progress with poverty and lack of opportunity. In at least three separate periods, 1913, 1964, and 2015, these circumstances have spurred action in the form of resistance, rebellion, and renewal – while altogether jeopardizing the social fabric of the city.

The RIT Museum, located on the third floor of the Wallace Center, will host this exhibition. Please join us for an opening reception on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 4:30 – 6:30 PM. This exhibit is on view through May 29, 2015.

We invite you to join us for the following events to be held in conjunction with the exhibition. Unless noted otherwise, events begin at 7:30 pm and are held in the McKenzie Commons, Building 06, RIT campus
