Lara Nicosia provides research support to both faculty and students in COLA through one-on-one consultations, in-class library instruction sessions, online tutorials and InfoGuides, and the purchasing of databases, books, and journals relevant to the humanities and social sciences.  She also serves as the Academic Integrity Team coordinator overseeing various projects that support academic integrity across RIT's campuses.

Nicosia has a BA in History and Economics from the College of William and Mary; an MA in Museum Studies and MS in Library and Information Science from Syracuse University; as well as a Certificate of Advanced Study (C.A.S.) in Digital Libraries.  Her background includes experience working in both academic libraries and special collections including Syracuse University's Special Collections Research Center, the RIT Archive Collections (as Project Archivist), and Medaille College (as Reference and Instruction Librarian).

Her primary professional interests include the design and implementation of information literacy instruction and the development of effective online content to aid in the research process.  Nicosia has experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, as well as XML and XSLT primarily for the creation of EAD finding aids.  In her free time Lara enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.
