Women studying motors in a classroom

These oral histories form part of an ongoing project to document the lives and experiences of women at RIT. The hope is to fill this site with audio, video and text excerpts of interviews with RIT women from the 1930s to the present. Most of history passes without any record, especially the day-to-day lives of ordinary people. Oral history interviews provide a vivid connection to the past and capture stories and recollections that might otherwise be lost forever. We hope you enjoy learning about the experiences of these women as they look back on their time at RIT and relate how their lives were shaped by their time at the school. Keep returning to the site, new recordings will be uploaded over time. If you are interested in being interviewed, please contact Becky Simmons, RIT Archivist at raswml@rit.edu or (585) 475-2557.
