To celebrate National Poetry Month, take some time to explore the extensive sign language poetry resources collected by RIT Libraries.
- Have a look at the videos from our grant-funded Sculptures in the Air project, digitizing videos from ASL Poetry and Literature conferences from 1987, 1991, and 1996 as well as other poetry workshops and performances.
- Browse our collection of DVDs featuring sign language poetry in ASL and other signed languages.
- Learn about the live performances of sign language poetry that make up the monthly ASL Slam events.
- Use the Galludet Encyclopedia or the Sage Encyclopedia of Deaf Studies to get background information on Deaf poetry and literature before using our extensive ASL Literature Bibliography to delve deeply into these topics.
For additional information, see this guide to sign language poetry created by RIT Libraries NTID/Education Librarian, Joan Naturale.
